Planning DNS and Nameserver Changes Safely
Before changing nameservers or important DNS records, export the current zone, verify the replacement zone, and identify records used for websites, mail, verification, APIs and third-party services.
Where practical, lower TTL values ahead of a planned migration. After the change, verify authoritative DNS, public resolvers, web traffic and mail routing. Existing cached records can remain visible until their previous TTL expires.
